September 2010 |
200 guests attended our Charity Ball and Auction held at the Albrighton Hall Hotel in July, helping us to celebrate 21 years in the industry! A fabulous evening was had by all and we are proud to have raised such a considerable sum to support two worthy local charities.
In total £5577.91 was raised and was equally divided between Hope House Hospice and Severn Hospice.
Keith and Jeremy Shingler are very pleased with the amount raised for such worthy causes.
"On behalf of everyone at Severn Hospice I would like to say how grateful we are for your very generous donation of £2,806.45 raised from your recent charity ball.
This quote from one our patients says everything we would like to say:
"When people give to the hospice it is hard to convey the difference it makes. I want people to know the intensity of what happens here, the difference they make and the living joy there is at the hospice. I believe that the concrete laid as the foundations of the Hospice was made with genuine love from all those who have raised the money to make it a reality. Today nothing scares me, not even cancer and I want to thank everyone for all the generous love I have here at the Hospice" - Maureen
We rely on fundraising events like yours and gifts in people's wills for the majority of our income. This ensures that the best care is available locally when it is needed most."
Yours Sincerely
Norma Ross
Appeals Director

We have recently been awarded the £500,000 contract to alter and refurbish Wolstanton Methodist Church in Wolstanton, Newcastle-under-Lyme. March 2009 – £270,000 Shropshire Paddlesport Clubhouse completes. |
|
SCL have just completed the refurbishment of Shropshire Paddlesport's clubhouse in Queen’s Head near Oswestry. The work involved the complete overhaul of a listed tin building to form a new clubhouse. The project was a particularly difficult one, due to the proximity of the building to the canal on one side and a main road on the other. As well as this a sewage treatment plant had to be installed in a very tight space in the towpath itself below the water table. This was an incredibly difficult operation, and it is great credit to the abilities of our construction team that they still managed to bring the project in on time and again on budget.

February 2009 – ISO9001 implementation begins... |
|
SCL have taken the strategic decision to implement the ISO9001 quality management system with a view to achieving full accreditation by the end of 2009. Martin Highfield will lead the team completing the implementation and has the full support of both company directors. Jeremy Shingler said "Both Martin and I have extensive experience of working within the ISO9001 management system and have seen first-hand the benefits it has both for the business as a whole as well as the individuals working in it. The accreditation process will involve a lot of hard work for everyone, but I am confident that when the system is in place, we will start to see immediate benefits in terms of business efficiencies and control which will have positive impacts right from our supply chain, through the workforce to our clients."
